Job description
Role Overview
Join Arriva at the Tunbridge Wells depot as a PCV Bus Driver and play a vital part in connecting the community. You will deliver essential transportation services ranging from daily commutes, shopping trips to school runs, building rewarding relationships with passengers and becoming a valued part of their day.
Compensation and Work Hours
The pay ranges from 16.85 to 17.87 per hour, with weekday hours paid at 16.85 and overtime compensated at 17.87 per hour. Pay rates are regularly reviewed through negotiations. Work involves rotating shift patterns covering mornings starting from 04:00, afternoons from 12:00, and evenings from 18:00, planned 6-8 weeks ahead. Fixed shifts are not available. Overtime is offered based on availability and request.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate routes safely and punctually, assisting various passengers including commuters, shoppers, and school children.
- Foster a positive passenger experience by building rapport and providing excellent customer service.
- Contribute to community connectivity by facilitating reliable transportation services.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a valid PCV driving licence; if not held, candidates should consider the Trainee role for paid training.
- Possess no more than six penalty points on the driving licence.
- Pass necessary drug and alcohol screening tests.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
- Be flexible and able to work varied shifts according to schedule.
