Role Overview

The Payroll Specialist role entails managing both monthly salaried and hourly payroll operations accurately and on schedule. Close cooperation with various internal departments and an outsourced payroll provider is vital to facilitate seamless payroll delivery and support the continuous enhancement of payroll processes amidst organizational changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure precise monthly payroll outputs for all employee categories.
  • Administer employee lifecycle events such as onboarding, terminations, contract modifications, overtime, and attendance records.
  • Guarantee adherence to current HMRC payroll regulations and compliance standards.
  • Perform reconciliations of payroll reports and assist in month-end closing activities.
  • Address and resolve payroll inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Participate in improving payroll workflows throughout periods of business transformation.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and operational teams to uphold payroll data integrity.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Prior experience handling payroll for both salaried and hourly employees.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK payroll legislation and best practices.
  • High level of accuracy and strong analytical capability for problem resolution.
  • Adaptability to work effectively within a changing operational environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder relationship management.
