Overview
Based in Calgary, Alberta, this full-time, on-site position offers a salary range of $65,000 to $75,000. The company is actively seeking a seasoned Payroll Specialist to handle comprehensive payroll responsibilities with precision and adherence to Canadian payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees across the organization.
- Maintain meticulous payroll records, calculating wages, deductions, benefits, and adjustments.
- Manage payroll taxes, statutory remittances, garnishments, and legally mandated deductions.
- Reconcile payroll documentation and investigate any discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
- Respond promptly and professionally to employee queries related to payroll.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance teams concerning employee status changes, benefits, deductions, and related payroll issues.
- Assist with payroll audits, compliance checks, and generate required reports.
- Handle sensitive employee and payroll information with strict confidentiality.
- Proactively seek ways to optimize payroll processes, enhance accuracy, and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll processing and administration.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now software.
- In-depth understanding of Canadian payroll laws, statutory duties, and employment standards.
- Proven expertise in managing payroll taxes, remittances, garnishments, and other legal deductions.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for payroll reporting purposes.
- Experience with Power BI is considered a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to consistently meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with HR and Finance departments.
- Certification such as PCP or relevant academic background in Payroll, Accounting, or similar disciplines is advantageous.
