About Dornan Engineering Group
Dornan Engineering Group is a prominent international contractor specializing in high-value engineering projects across Europe, the UK, and Ireland. Located in Little Island, Cork, this role offers an opportunity to join the expanding Payroll team as a Payroll Specialist, responsible for managing accurate and timely payroll operations internally in Ireland and the UK, as well as outsourced payrolls across Europe.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll cycle for weekly and monthly payrolls across Ireland, the UK, and outsourced European payroll services.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including processing new hires, terminations, and salary modifications.
- Calculate and administer employee benefits, allowances, and both statutory and voluntary deductions.
- Address and resolve payroll-related queries from employees and internal/external stakeholders promptly.
- Generate detailed payroll reports and ensure the General Ledger reflects accurate payroll transactions.
- Support monthly payroll reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy of accounts.
- Perform manual payroll calculations and process payments as required.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance teams, External Auditors, Tax Authorities, and payroll service providers.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to payroll procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, GDPR regulations, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about ongoing changes in payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end payroll processes along with other ad-hoc payroll tasks.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of two years of experience in payroll-related roles.
- Possession of IPASS or CIPP qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work efficiently within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of payroll compliance standards and confidentiality protocols.
