Job Overview
The Payroll Officer is responsible for executing daily payroll transactions, managing employee payroll data, and supporting payroll system maintenance to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out various payroll transactions including processing leave applications and performing necessary payroll reconciliations.
- Keep the HR and payroll systems updated with accurate employee information, staff movements, and payroll changes.
- Support the administration and management of superannuation funds.
- Provide guidance and assistance through the People Assist Help Desk on payroll matters, including interpretation of Enterprise Agreements and relevant legislation.
- Enter and update data within the Payroll System and HR Information System (HRIS).

Candidate Profile and Required Experience
- Previous experience with payroll systems, preferably with Empower, is essential.
- Proficient in Excel, Human Resource Information Systems, and other related software applications.
- Capable of maintaining and managing Human Resource Information Systems effectively.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing environments and processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a knack for identifying procedural improvements.
- Ability to engage professionally at all organizational levels.
- High attention to detail ensuring accurate and quality work output.
Additional Requirements
Preferred applicants must be willing to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical examination, both sponsored by the employer.
