About the Role
Located at our Chippendale head office, the Payroll Officer will be instrumental in ensuring timely and precise payroll execution for approximately 800 employees at Youfoodz. The role involves managing the entire weekly payroll process, collaborating closely with operations teams across Australia, and actively contributing to the development and enhancement of internal payroll tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the complete weekly payroll cycle accurately for about 800 staff members.
- Examine and validate attendance and time records to ensure compliance with Modern Awards, enterprise agreements, and internal policies.
- Handle and reconcile payroll complexities such as novated leases, salary packaging, and statutory deductions.
- Oversee processing of terminations, redundancy payouts, leave settlements, and Workers' Compensation claims in compliance with Australian law.
- Work alongside Workforce Planning and regional operations to resolve scheduling discrepancies, audit rosters, and optimize back-office processes.
- Ensure integrity and security of employee records across payroll, HRIS, and time management systems.
- Provide top-tier internal customer service as the main contact for payroll inquiries and swiftly address escalated issues.
- Assist the Payroll Manager with various additional tasks as needed.
Candidate Profile
- At least two years of solid experience managing high-volume, full-cycle payroll within Australia, preferably overseeing 500+ employees.
- Comprehensive understanding of Australian payroll laws, including Superannuation Guarantee, PAYG tax, and Modern Award interpretations.
- Proficient in advanced payroll calculations such as novated lease reconciliations, complex terminations, and Workers' Compensation.
- Familiar with contemporary payroll software (ADP Payforce experience is an advantage), time and attendance systems, and possesses strong Excel skills.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to engage effectively with operational managers and Workforce Planning staff.
