About the Company

Our client is a recognized leading employer operating throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland, supporting a widespread multi-site employee base. Experiencing ongoing expansion, they require a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll functions and collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and other business units.

Role Overview

This position is hybrid, based in Newcastle West, County Limerick, offering flexible working options from the start. Candidates may opt for full-time or part-time roles (3-4 days per week). It is a fixed-term contract lasting between 12 to 18 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead processing of multiple payrolls across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
  • Manage and develop a team of six payroll professionals.
  • Deliver payroll, compensation, and reward cost analysis to senior leadership.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll, benefits, pensions, and reward matters.
  • Design and execute variable pay and incentive programs.
  • Oversee monthly accruals, prepayments, financial postings related to payroll.
  • Support monthly reporting and annual audit tasks in conjunction with Finance.
  • Maintain and improve payroll policies, controls, and procedures.
  • Foster strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external payroll vendors.
  • Track legislative and market changes regarding payroll, benefits, and reward.
  • Lead organizational payroll and process enhancement initiatives involving multiple parties.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven Payroll Manager experience, ideally within a large, complex multi-site organization.
  • Experience managing Irish and UK payroll operations highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with computerized Time & Attendance systems.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Competent in extracting reports from HR information systems.
  • Sound understanding of employment law related to reward and pensions.
  • Ability to generate insight from both internal data and external sources.
  • Capable of managing multi-stakeholder projects effectively.
  • Excellent consultancy, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
  • IPASS qualification desirable but not mandatory; practical Irish payroll experience is critical.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary up to €80,000 annually.
