About the Project

A partnership of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs, and Ventia forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, delivering South Australia's largest road infrastructure project. This 10.5 km motorway finalizes the North-South Corridor with continuous traffic light-free flow, including complex tunnel and road constructions, targeted for completion by 2031.

Position Overview

This role requires an experienced Payroll Advisor to manage the weekly payroll processes of a substantial project workforce. The position will initially be based in St Marys with potential work across multiple sites, demanding adaptability to various project locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process high-volume weekly payroll for the T2D workforce accurately and efficiently.
  • Review and validate employee timesheets using Kronos Time & Attendance systems.
  • Calculate pay items including regular hours, overtime, allowances, penalties, and leave entitlements.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and attendance teams to correct timesheet inaccuracies.
  • Ensure precise payroll data transfer and reconciliation.
  • Interpret and apply terms from Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and internal policies.
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations and control checks to maintain data integrity.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate employee payroll records.
  • Support payroll reporting functions and compliance audits.
  • Contribute to payroll system updates, projects, and process optimizations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to employees and project stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll functions as a Payroll Officer or Advisor, ideally handling large workforces.
  • Expertise using Kronos or similar systems for time and attendance management.
  • Deep understanding of processing timesheets, overtime, allowances, penalties, and leave components.
  • Familiarity with interpreting Enterprise Agreements and Awards.
  • Proficient with Excel, reconciliation tasks, and capable of analytical problem-solving.
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to payroll accuracy and detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach, maintaining confidentiality of employee data.
  • Experience within construction, infrastructure, or resource industries preferred.
  • Possession of a current driver's license, reliable transportation, Construction White Card, and willingness to travel across sites.
