Overview
Gold Fields Australia is inviting applications for the role of Paste Fill Operator within their Underground Production Team at the Invincible St Ives Gold Mine. This role supports two newly established Paste Plants and reports directly to the Paste Fill Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Install underground Paste Fill infrastructure including paste walls, reticulation systems, instrumentation, compressed air, ventilation infrastructure, and water/dewatering pipes, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.
- Operate and maintain paste plant machinery and related equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) of paste fill samples to maintain service standards.
- Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards in operated equipment, plant areas, vehicle cabins, crib rooms, and workshops to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Arrive fit for work on scheduled roster days, complete all pre-start checks, workplace inspections, and required documentation accurately.
- Communicate frequently with the Paste Fill Coordinator or Mine Management regarding any issues that might impact safe and efficient production.
Working Pattern & Location
The position operates on a twelve-hour roster with 8 days on followed by 6 days off. Candidates may be FIFO from Perth or reside in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie. Daily bus transport to and from the site is available, and relocation assistance will be provided if necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in an underground mining environment, specifically operating a Paste Plant or similar infrastructure.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of mobile equipment maintenance and care.
- Possession of a valid manual C class driver’s license and working at heights accreditation.
- First Aid certification is considered advantageous.
