Opportunity Overview

Join the team at CHT Te Awamutu as a passionate Chef in a part-time position guaranteed for 16 hours weekly. This role goes beyond cooking; every dish prepared brings comfort, connection, and joy to aged care residents. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, portion, and present high-quality meals tailored to residents.
  • Address dietary, nutritional, and cultural needs of residents.
  • Uphold standards for food quality, presentation, and portion control.
  • Properly receive, rotate, and store kitchen inventory.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitize kitchen, equipment, and workspaces.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety, infection control, hygiene, and health and safety protocols.

Candidate Profile

  • Hold a New Zealand NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or an equivalent certificate.
  • Possess prior cooking experience in a comparable setting.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and special dietary considerations.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills and professionalism.
  • Be dependable, adaptable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to pass a Police Clearance check successfully.
