Opportunity Overview
Join the team at CHT Te Awamutu as a passionate Chef in a part-time position guaranteed for 16 hours weekly. This role goes beyond cooking; every dish prepared brings comfort, connection, and joy to aged care residents. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, portion, and present high-quality meals tailored to residents.
- Address dietary, nutritional, and cultural needs of residents.
- Uphold standards for food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Properly receive, rotate, and store kitchen inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitize kitchen, equipment, and workspaces.
- Adhere strictly to food safety, infection control, hygiene, and health and safety protocols.
Candidate Profile
- Hold a New Zealand NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or an equivalent certificate.
- Possess prior cooking experience in a comparable setting.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and special dietary considerations.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and professionalism.
- Be dependable, adaptable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Physically fit and able to pass a Police Clearance check successfully.
