Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter to uphold and enhance the interior and exterior aesthetics of our hotel. This hands-on role demands dedication to craftsmanship and teamwork, ensuring all painted surfaces meet premium standards of cleanliness, durability, and visual appeal. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver consistent, high-quality painting services efficiently and safely.
• Follow hotel policies and departmental safety protocols strictly.
• Prepare surfaces meticulously by sanding, patching, caulking, priming, and sealing.
• Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment with precision.
• Accurately match paint colors for touch-ups to maintain uniform finishes.
• Conduct minor drywall repairs and remove or replace wallpapers as necessary.
• Complete painting work orders and preventative maintenance tasks on schedule.
• Minimize disruption to guests and hotel operations during work activities.
• Maintain an orderly and clean worksite; handle and store materials safely.
• Adhere to safety regulations for handling paints, coatings, and chemicals per WHMIS and OH&S standards.
• Assist in managing paint and supply inventory, reporting material needs promptly.
• Collaborate with other departments and trade professionals for project coordination.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior staff or apprentices when required.
• Maintain accurate logs of time, tasks completed, and materials utilized.
• Follow the hotel's vehicle safety policies when operating vehicles for work purposes.
• Be prepared to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call shifts.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisory leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Between five and ten years of professional painting experience ideally within commercial, hospitality, or large facility environments.
• Expertise across all aspects of surface preparation and finish application.
• Competent in drywall repair techniques, patching, and wallpaper removal.
• Awareness and knowledge of environmentally friendly and low-VOC painting products and practices.
• Understanding and adherence to WHMIS and Occupational Health & Safety workplace safety standards.
• Ability to safely work on ladders, scaffolding, and use power painting tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail ensuring consistent, high-caliber finishes.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent verbal communication and teamwork capability.
• Holding a valid Canadian driver's license is advantageous.
• Physical capability to lift up to 25 kg, climb, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods.
• Maintain a professional demeanor, focus on guest satisfaction, and handle pressure calmly.
