Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Paint Technician to join a leading main dealership in Glasgow, Scotland. This role offers a stable long-term career with growth prospects and a supportive working environment.
Work Schedule and Compensation
The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and on Fridays from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with no weekend shifts. The salary package includes a base pay of up to 34,000 plus bonuses of approximately 3,000 and overtime, with total on-target earnings of up to 50,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming.
- Mix and apply paint according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform paint repairs and complete vehicle resprays.
- Ensure all paintwork meets stringent quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized workstation at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a full UK driving license.
- At least one year of experience as a paint technician in the motor trade, including main or used car dealerships, independent garages, or used car supermarkets.
- Qualifications such as NVQ, IMI, City & Guilds Level 3, or ATA are preferred but not mandatory if substantial practical experience is demonstrated.
- Experience working within a main dealership environment is advantageous but not essential.
