About the Role
This full-time permanent position is located at the Waitemata Brewery, Otahuhu in Auckland, New Zealand. As a Packaging Technician at DB Breweries, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and safety of beer, cider, and RTDs throughout the packaging process. This role demands someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and prioritizes safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and enhance packaging machinery to consistently achieve production targets.
- Ensure all products comply with established quality and safety standards.
- Engage in the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Continuous Improvement program, applying methodologies such as 5S and Kaizen to enhance performance and minimize waste.
- Conduct timely preventive and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate closely with planning, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Follow and revise Standard Operating Procedures and support training activities within the team.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working across various areas as necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a mechanical or electrical trade qualification equivalent to NZCE or Advanced Trade Certificate.
- Hold 3 to 5 years of experience in packaging or maintenance roles within brewing, FMCG, or food and beverage sectors.
- Experience utilizing maintenance management systems and continuous improvement techniques.
- Comfortable with technology, including use of phones/tablets, managing email communications, completing online training, and performing basic data recording and issue reporting through systems.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail paired with effective communication skills.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to continuously learn and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Have full-time work eligibility in New Zealand.
