Job description
Role Overview
The Packaging Operator plays a critical role in managing daily packaging workflows at the Dublin facility, ensuring adherence to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). This individual acts as a representative of Alexion Pharmaceuticals, upholding the company's interests and policies professionally.
Primary Duties
- Maintain up-to-date training records on equipment, processes, and safety protocols.
- Carry out daily packaging operations aligned with schedules while maintaining strict GMP compliance.
- Continuously improve GMP adherence to safeguard patient safety and reduce business risk.
- Proactively work independently with a self-driven approach.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving packaging-related operational issues.
- Draft and update SOPs and master batch records routinely.
- Contribute to deviation investigations and their resolutions.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives after approval.
- Support regulatory licensing activities, including preparation for agency inspections.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Area Supervisor.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 2 to 5 years of experience in packaging operations within a high-paced GMP setting.
- Capability to navigate and adapt to complex electronic systems like SAP and serialization platforms.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and GMP standards.
- Energetic, flexible, and effective team collaboration skills.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Typical pharmaceutical packaging conditions apply, including frequent lifting (15-30 pounds), prolonged standing and walking, PPE gowning/de-gowning, computer use, teamwork, and general availability during shift hours. Candidates should be able to perform these tasks with or without accommodations.
Preferred Extras
- Demonstrated history of leading improvement projects.
- Participation in supplementary teams such as Safety, Quality, or Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) teams.
- A tertiary qualification in a scientific or engineering discipline or an equivalent credential is advantageous.
