Job description
Position Overview
This role supports the Store Manager by overseeing store operations aligned with company standards and guiding staff to deliver friendly, helpful service while driving profitable sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute as part of the Store Management Team to achieve sales and profit targets through effective budget control and forecasting. Analyze financial reports, market trends, and community requirements to adapt strategies and manage expenses appropriately. Communicate sales performance and provide clear interpretation to staff.
- Collaborate with management peers to formulate and implement operational plans. Delegate tasks and provide direction to managers and store associates, ensuring store areas are well-maintained through excellent merchandise presentation, precise competitive pricing, and adherence to store standards and policies. Roll out new store initiatives related to specific operational areas like Front End, Back End, Fresh, or overall Operations; also maintain cross-functional competencies to cover all store departments as needed.
- Implement and oversee asset protection programs and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies. Conduct operational reviews and ensure quality assurance practices are met while proactively addressing any compliance matters including control of losses.
- Act as a Customer Service ambassador by warmly greeting customers, soliciting feedback, and resolving customer concerns promptly within company guidelines. Lead by example to enforce outstanding customer service methods and techniques among associates.
- Engage with the community through supporting local events and building relationships with community groups. Participate in company-led programs focused on sustainability and community integration.
- Foster team development by holding regular meetings, effectively communicating store strategies including OMNI and Total Store initiatives, and promoting staff engagement. Recognize achievements and encourage associate growth through training and identification of high-potential individuals.
- Model company values by managing associate performance, providing timely and respectful feedback, and undertaking necessary corrective or disciplinary actions. Maintain strong collaboration with district support functions such as HR.
- Adhere strictly to all policies involving merchandise handling, especially controlled items like alcohol, ammunition, and narcotics. Ensure adherence to cash management policies, handling daily cash volumes up to $250,000.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is between $56,100 and $66,642.50 annually, with exact pay determined by relevant experience.
