Primary Job Function

The Outlet Manager will lead the store operations and bakery/kitchen teams to ensure a high-quality customer experience. Responsibilities include meeting sales goals, enhancing profitability, managing staff and safety, and driving operational excellence. The role supports Defence Bakery’s mission and values to nurture a positive work environment and uphold brand reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily outlet operations to ensure efficient workflow, high staff performance, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Champion outstanding customer service by training and motivating employees, managing feedback, and promoting a customer-first mindset.
• Oversee inventory and stock, maintain ideal supply levels, collaborate with suppliers, and control shrinkage.
• Handle financial aspects including budgeting, expenditure monitoring, sales analysis, and corrective measures to meet financial targets.
• Exercise sound judgment in addressing operational issues and boosting overall outlet success.
• Stay informed on industry trends, market demands, and competitor strategies to keep the outlet innovative and competitive.
• Ensure adherence to legal regulations, health and safety policies, and company standards.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate staff, fostering teamwork and alignment with organizational objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduation is required; preference for students or graduates of Institute of Hotel Management or hotel management programs.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in food retail or FMCG retail with over 2 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in delivering excellent customer experiences and resolving concerns efficiently.
• Proven success in achieving sales targets and increasing profitability through strategic management.
• Strong inventory control capabilities including stock replenishment and minimizing losses.
• Experience in budget management, sales data analysis, and operational cost control.
• Analytical skills to diagnose issues and apply practical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and stakeholders.
• Knowledgeable about current market trends, customer preferences, and competition to maintain an edge.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively within demanding and fast-moving environments.
• Compliance with legal, health, safety, and company policy requirements is essential.
