Job description
About Citco
Citco is a worldwide leader providing fund services, corporate governance, and related asset services across more than 50 global offices, administering over $2 trillion in assets. We offer comprehensive solutions ensuring excellent client service.
Team and Business Overview
The Citco Group supports its companies and promotes excellence in client service. Our HR department encompasses Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Reward, People Operations, and HR Business Partners, now incorporating Organisation Design (OD) as a new, enterprise-wide capability within HR.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Organisation Design Principal will directly engage in structuring how Citco is organized — defining management layers, accountability, managerial span of control, and alignment with business goals. Responsibilities include evaluating current structures, guiding business units through change using Citco's OD framework, and developing data-driven insights to ensure organisation design is an ongoing strategic discipline.
- Analyze and document existing organizational charts across units, including reporting relationships, layers, spans of control, and governance bodies.
- Map existing operating models detailing functional activities, workflow between teams, decision-making points, and alignment with business objectives.
- Identify structural inefficiencies such as duplicated roles, capacity bottlenecks, single points of failure, friction in team interactions, and deviations from established benchmarks.
- Maintain up-to-date reporting on organisational baseline structures and span/layer metrics.
- Lead design processes starting from business strategy comprehension to define design criteria, and guide the full design lifecycle through assessment, principle setting, option generation, testing, role definition, and transition.
- Develop materials for leadership design sessions, including structure options, impact on spans and layers, headcount, and cost analyses; facilitate these sessions effectively.
- Perform rigorous testing of proposed structures ensuring accountability clarity, minimized hand-offs, clear decision rights, appropriate leader capacity, capability considerations, client impact, and robustness.
- Assist in role design, including role profiles, accountability mapping, and workforce effect analyses.
- Support transition planning with headcount forecasting, hiring necessities, and assessment of team and individual impacts.
- Manage OD engagement requests through intake and triage, determining when OD input is mandatory or advisory.
- Monitor and evaluate if structural changes achieve expected benefits through adoption metrics, post-implementation reviews (3-6 months post go-live), and key performance indicators such as managers' spans of control, layers per unit, and governance adherence.
- Collaborate daily with key stakeholders including Business Directors, Finance, and HR teams.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Minimum 8 years professional experience in HR, organisation design, workforce analytics, or management consulting, including at least 4 years focused on organisation design or effectiveness.
- Direct participation in a minimum of two major restructures or design initiatives involving current state mapping, option development, and design validation.
- Strategic mindset toward structures, recognizing that organisation design derives from operating models and business strategy.
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders confidentially and sensitively.
- Proficiency with formal organisation design methodologies such as the Galbraith Star Model or Kates Kesler framework.
- Familiarity with operating models and understanding the interplay of work, decision rights, governance, and structure.
- Exposure to Oracle Fusion HCM or similar Human Resource Information Systems data structures.
- Advanced skills in managing HR and organisational data using Excel; knowledge of Power BI is advantageous.
- Ability to construct headcount and span/layer models supported by clear, data-driven narratives.
- Strong strategic and financial acumen.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
- Robust project management skills.
