Job description
Job Summary
The Order Picker role at The Restaurant Store involves assisting the Order Fulfillment Manager in all phases of customer order operations within a retail branch. This individual will be responsible for accurately picking, consolidating, and organizing customer orders, aligning efforts with the sales, inventory, and merchandising teams to ensure effective order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently and accurately pick, consolidate, and slot customer orders utilizing pallet jacks, carts, or powered equipment
- Execute all order fulfillment duties in alignment with branch operational objectives
- Achieve or surpass established company benchmarks for efficiency and accuracy
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe order fulfillment environment
- Communicate effectively with the Order Fulfillment Manager regarding any discrepancies, order updates, or issues
- Support additional management-assigned tasks to facilitate seamless branch operations and meet overall business targets
Physical Demands
- Primary work activities involve standing and/or walking for up to 9 hours daily
- Able to communicate clearly using speech, vision, and hearing
- Regular hand use for grasping and fine manipulation
- Frequent bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching required
- Capability to lift, carry, push, or pull weights up to 50 lbs regularly
Experience & Skills
- Practical experience fulfilling orders using pallet jacks, carts, and powered equipment
- Proven track record of meeting operational efficiency and accuracy standards
- Competence in maintaining organized, safe working areas
- Strong verbal and written communication aptitudes for technical and complex information delivery in plain language
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast-paced setting
- Adaptability to evolving business demands demonstrated with diplomatic and emotionally intelligent problem-solving
- Service-oriented leadership mindset with a commitment to exceeding expectations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM software, and project management tools
