Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to ensure the high availability and secure operation of database environments. This role involves maintaining database health, executing upgrades, and managing capacity while adhering to security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain databases to ensure consistent availability and reliability.
- Conduct daily health checks, ongoing maintenance, and self-assessments on database security.
- Create, configure, migrate, patch, and upgrade Oracle databases to maintain supported versions.
- Plan and manage database capacity requirements.
- Administer database assets and systems aligning with established security policies, including account reviews.
- Produce documentation covering database policies, architecture, and design artifacts.
- Deliver technical solutions that meet user requirements for database-related projects.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience supporting Oracle Database environments across production, disaster recovery, development, QA, and UAT.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Oracle Database versions 11g, 12c, 18c, and 19c.
- Experience supporting Oracle RAC environments with 2-4 node clusters, Oracle Golden Gate, and Oracle Data Guard.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving database integrity, performance, blocking, deadlocking, connectivity, and security issues.
- Proficient with Windows and Unix operating systems.
- Competent in generating reports using Oracle tools such as AWR, ASH, ADDM, and custom scripts.
- Capability in continuous performance monitoring, historical data analysis, and real-time troubleshooting of Oracle databases.
- Strong experience with backup and recovery utilities including RMAN, expdp/impdp.
- Competence in installing new software releases, patches, upgrades, and cloning databases.
- Experience developing and enforcing database security policies and procedures.
- Daily monitoring of system health and data integrity.
- Ability to analyze database performance and implement improvements.
- Experience with other RDBMS, NoSQL technologies, and cloud platforms is a plus.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to document processes, create knowledge bases, runbooks, and network topology diagrams.
- Collaborate effectively with users and vendors to resolve issues promptly and perform root cause analyses.

- AWS Certified Database – Specialty (mandatory)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (mandatory)
- Oracle Certification (preferred)
