Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an adept PeopleSoft Administrator possessing solid practical knowledge of PeopleTools, PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM), environment administration, infrastructure management, performance troubleshooting, and production support. The position demands proficiency bridging PeopleSoft Administration and Oracle Database Administration (DBA) responsibilities.
Core Responsibilities and Expertise
- Administer PeopleSoft environments with 4 to 6 years of direct experience.
- Expertise in PeopleTools, PUM, Oracle Database, and SQL Server technologies.
- Manage system refreshes, data migrations, patch applications, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Drive PeopleTools platform upgrades and apply PUM images efficiently.
- Administer and troubleshoot components such as PeopleSoft Application Servers, Process Scheduler, Web Servers, Integration Broker and Gateway, Load Balancers, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) elements.
- Handle DMZ architecture servers including PeopleSoft web server configurations, reverse proxy and load balancer integrations, firewall set-ups, network traffic flows, and secured communications between DMZ and internal application/database layers.
- Investigate and resolve PeopleSoft performance problems including slow transaction processing, application server challenges, Process Scheduler latency, extended-running jobs, SQL performance bottlenecks, database resource utilization, and other bottlenecks.
- Address critical production incidents such as outages, performance degradations, server/application failures, integration malfunctions, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA).
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates, keystores, digital certificates, HTTPS support, certificate renewals, and troubleshoot SSL connectivity problems.
- Maintain working knowledge of Load Balancers, WAF, firewall configurations, DNS, port configurations, network connectivity, and their roles within PeopleSoft DMZ architectures.
- Conduct environment health assessments, capacity tracking, filesystem and database housekeeping, log management, and implement proactive performance monitoring measures.
Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Strong communication skills including technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and cross-team collaboration.
- Willingness and adaptability to expand skills across both PeopleSoft Administration and Oracle DBA domains.
