Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Optometrist based in Beverley to conduct thorough eye examinations, including vision assessments, prescribing and fitting corrective lenses, and detecting ocular issues that may require specialized medical intervention. The role entails communicating examination results to patients in an understandable and empathetic manner, offering personalized eye health advice, and collaborating closely with the retail team to ensure a smooth and welcoming customer experience.
Maintaining precise clinical documentation in line with professional and regulatory standards is essential, alongside contributing to continuous enhancements in clinical service quality and customer care. Participation in ongoing education and training is encouraged to maintain currency in clinical skills and support the clinical team effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
- Registration or eligibility for registration as an Optometrist with the appropriate professional regulatory body, demonstrating solid knowledge of clinical optometry and eye health.
- Expertise in performing comprehensive eye checks, including refraction, contact lens evaluation, and screening for common ocular diseases.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to clearly and compassionately convey clinical findings and treatment options to patients.
- Capacity to function efficiently within a multidisciplinary retail and clinical team, fostering a positive, inclusive, and patient-focused environment.
- Keen attention to detail coupled with proficient record-keeping to ensure accurate clinical documentation adhering to ethical and professional guidelines.
- Familiarity and comfort with digital diagnostic tools and clinic management software, alongside a readiness to learn new technological systems and processes.
- A strong dedication to continuous professional development through training, further education, and staying updated with best clinical practices.
- Previous experience in community optometry or a retail optical setting is advantageous, although newly qualified optometrists are welcome to apply.
