Position Summary

The Operations Manager will steer automation and operational projects within global payroll workflows, especially focusing on AI-powered process design, testing, and refinement using Akai. This role requires managing simultaneous projects, closing process gaps, and analytics-driven management to inform leadership decisions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams globally, actively troubleshooting AI workflows and leading critical operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operational payroll workflows, identifying and implementing efficiency optimizations.
  • Champion automation projects that minimize manual effort and enhance speed and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with teams across departments to harmonize tools and streamline processes for internal users and customers.
  • Maintain operational compliance, control standards, and risk mitigation practices.
  • Contribute to fraud prevention and ensure regulatory compliance through stringent operational standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, reporting risks or workflow issues promptly to leadership.
  • Enhance customer service processes by improving resolution times, quality, and escalation management.
  • Develop and expand self-service capabilities to decrease reliance on manual support.
  • Establish feedback mechanisms to incorporate insights for continual process refinement.
  • Prepare operational readiness for new market entries and product launches by partnering with key stakeholders.
  • Support go-to-market strategies by resolving challenges and facilitating adoption.
  • Report operational results, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Lead strategic operational projects in partnership with senior management teams.

Qualifications

  • At least five years' operational experience, preferably within tech or FinTech startups with dynamic environments.
  • Proficient with AI tools including building and troubleshooting automated workflows to drive continuous improvement.
  • Technical foundation, ideally with an engineering degree, computer science training, or hands-on technical project experience.
  • Proven leadership in managing and coaching small to medium teams effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of tracking and enhancing KPIs.
  • Experience in process automation and knowledge of operational tools is essential.
  • Background in financial technology, consulting, banking, or high-growth startups is advantageous.
  • Data-driven, comfortable translating complex data into insights; familiarity with SQL is a plus.
  • Highly collaborative, energetic, and action-biased team player.
