Role Summary
The Senior Product Operations Manager within the Global Payroll team will act as a critical liaison among product strategy, go-to-market, and operational execution. Focusing on the EMEA region, this position will synthesize diverse, often conflicting customer feedback into actionable insights for product teams while managing operational workload related to automation, integrations, and configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary channel linking sales, customer support, and product teams by clarifying and prioritizing customer feedback into clear, valuable product insights.
- Transform ambiguous requests into definitive, actionable plans by engaging cross-functional teams and asking precise questions.
- Manage operational tasks intelligently, applying automation tools like AI (Akai, Claude) where appropriate, and exercise judgment to distinguish product gaps from documentation or third-party limitations.
- Maintain deep regional expertise in the EMEA market, acknowledging unique customer bases, regulatory frameworks, and payroll complexities, and relay relevant patterns to leadership.
- Operate autonomously with clearly defined decision-making boundaries, escalating only high-stakes decisions while managing reversible ones independently, without micromanagement.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in product operations, customer success operations, or roles focused on transforming feedback into product improvements.
- Exceptional resourcefulness with a proactive, problem-solving mindset that drives issues to resolution independently.
- Ability to make independent decisions confidently with an understanding of scope; comfortable navigating ambiguity and iterating based on incomplete information.
- Strong familiarity with product capabilities and limitations, enabling accurate responses to feature-related questions and edge cases.
- Data literacy, including proficiency in SQL, spreadsheets, and analytics platforms, to independently extract and analyze data.
- Capacity to thrive under continuous operational demands, balancing urgency and action with strategic progress.
Additional Preferences
- Background in payroll or finance operations within complex, client-facing environments is an advantage.
Role Expectations and Team Context
This role functions with a founder-like approach to self-direction and problem-solving, offering autonomy coupled with a strong sense of focus. Candidates will play a vital role within a global payroll unit as a senior leader, collaborating closely with fellow operations leaders and product managers.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive and inclusive total rewards program with fair pay tailored to locale, including stock grants based on role and employment status.
- Additional country-specific perks and flexible office membership options.
Diversity and Inclusion
Deel is committed to equal opportunity employment, encouraging applications from individuals of all backgrounds and legally protected statuses. The company supports accommodations during recruitment to ensure fair participation, and uses AI-assisted recruitment tools under strict governance ensuring transparency and human oversight.
