About the Organisation

The Salvation Army Driver Programmes delivers community-focused driving licensing, education, road safety, and behaviour change services across urban and rural areas. The programmes assist individuals facing challenges in obtaining, progressing, or maintaining a driver's license, thereby enabling access to employment, education, independence, wellbeing, and safer community involvement.

Role Overview

As the Operations Manager, you will lead operational activities across Driver Programmes and Community Driver Testing services. This position requires a hands-on approach to leadership, focusing on managing people, systems, reporting, quality assurance, and driving continuous improvements. You will partner with Coordinators, Administrators, and delivery teams to ensure smooth, consistent, and effective service outcomes for participants and communities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership across various programme locations, including Canterbury and West Coast regions.
  • Lead and support Coordinators and Administrators to ensure high standards in service delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and refine systems, processes, dashboards, reporting tools, and operational workflows.
  • Monitor the achievement of programme KPIs and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, operational efficiency, and participant outcomes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong community focus with compassion and dedication to fostering positive outcomes for individuals and their whānau.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 applications such as Excel, Forms, SharePoint, Teams, with experience in building dashboards and reporting systems.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, support, and develop diverse teams.
  • Exceptional organisational, analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Competent in data analysis, identifying trends, and translating insights into actionable operational strategies.

Working Hours & Salary

This permanent, full-time role involves working 37.5 hours per week. The starting salary is NZD 93,617.55 annually.
