Role Overview and Responsibilities
This role involves managing and administering Windows Server environments in an AWS cloud context. Responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring IT infrastructure, managing cloud services, coordinating patch management, and supporting ITIL processes to ensure effective system performance and reliability.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and Wintel system administration.
- Proficiency in Windows Server versions 2016, 2019, and 2022.
- Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell, AWS CLI, or Python is advantageous.
- Strong grasp of ITIL processes, infrastructure monitoring, and patch management.
Preferred Skills
- Certification like AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or an equivalent.
- Experience with hybrid cloud systems, integrating on-premises Active Directory with AWS.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Exposure to DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Jenkins.
Soft Skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within teams.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
