Role Summary

The Occupational Therapist will offer expert rehabilitation services to individuals with mental health disorders, enhancing their functional autonomy, activities of daily living, and overall life quality. Key activities include evaluating patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive capabilities; designing personalized therapeutic interventions; and cooperating with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate patient safety, recovery, and community reintegration.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed evaluations of patients’ functional, cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial requirements.
• Create, apply, and assess customized occupational therapy treatment plans aimed at boosting life skills and independence.
• Deliver therapeutic sessions focusing on daily living skills training, life skills development, sensory integration, and cognitive rehabilitation.
• Track and record patient improvements, revising therapy strategies as needed following Department of Health and organizational protocols.
• Partner with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and allied health staff to ensure cohesive patient-focused care.
• Educate and train patients, families, and caregivers to support continued rehabilitation and functional enhancements.
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to discharge planning, community re-entry, and linking to supportive resources.

Necessary Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school; Master’s degree preferred.
• Possession of or eligibility for a valid Department of Health (DOH) Occupational Therapist license.
• At least 2 to 3 years of practical clinical experience, ideally within mental health or psychiatric environments.
• Arabic language proficiency is considered a beneficial asset.
