Role Summary
The Nurse Helper supports the nursing team by assisting in patient care tasks as directed by Registered Nurses (RNs). Responsibilities include aiding patients with daily living activities while strictly avoiding contact with body fluids or medical devices containing such fluids. Duties also involve patient transport within the hospital, assisting with mobility, performing sitter roles, and providing visual monitoring.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
- Completion of the Nurse Helper training program prior to starting orientation on the nursing unit.
- Mandatory Standard WELLE® training.
Work Details
- Location: Mease Dunedin facility within BayCare Health System Emergency Services.
- Full-time position, non-exempt.
- Scheduled shift: Night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM.
- Weekend shifts every other weekend.
- No on-call duties.
- Position requires on-site presence; remote work is not permitted.
