Job description

Role Overview

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be instrumental in preparing patients and performing diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures within established protocols. Your responsibilities include handling complex imaging equipment, conducting dosimetry, dispensing radiopharmaceuticals, and contributing to departmental research initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clear and simple instructions to patients prior to Nuclear Medicine procedures to ensure proper preparation.
  • Conduct Nuclear Medicine imaging examinations strictly following protocol and accurately process the resulting data.
  • Carry out dosimetry analysis for Tc99m macroaggregated albumin (MAA) patients ahead of Yttrium-90 (Y90) microspheres therapy, ensuring precise delineation of regions of interest (ROIs) on SPECT/CT images.
  • Dispense Iodine-131 (131I) for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes under safe and regulated conditions.
  • Perform routine quality control checks daily on gamma cameras and other imaging devices to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Engage actively in research projects within the department and collaborate with other teams across different departments.
  • Carry out any additional duties as required to support the department's operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Possess a recognized Diploma or Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiography, Radiation Therapy, or an equivalent qualification; prior experience specifically in Nuclear Medicine is advantageous.
  • Hold a valid NEA R1 License for Nuclear Medicine practice.
  • Demonstrated previous work experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology is essential.
