About the Role

Norton House Hotel & Spa, located in the tranquil countryside near Edinburgh, seeks an enthusiastic Night Porter to join their team. This permanent, full-time position involves working five days a week, including weekends, primarily during night shifts from 22:45 to 07:15, totaling 40 hours weekly, with part-time and flexible hours considered based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering outstanding guest experiences during night shifts, including preparing drinks, providing room service, managing the reception desk, and setting up for next-day events.
• Overseeing overnight operations by conducting the night audit and ensuring all accounts are balanced and prepared for the following day.
• Maintaining a secure, welcoming, and efficient environment for guests and staff throughout the night.
• Collaborating closely with team members and ensuring smooth communication across shifts to support seamless hotel operations.

Candidate Profile

• Proactive and friendly individual with a positive attitude towards teamwork and hospitality.
• Experience working night shifts in a hotel front office environment preferred.
• Competent with hotel reservation systems and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Opera software is advantageous.
• Committed to delivering exceptional, personalized service to create memorable guest experiences.
