About the Role

As Night Porter in our Front of House department, you will be pivotal in responding rapidly and efficiently to guests' needs during nighttime hours. You will also ensure security and fire safety checks are completed regularly each night, in addition to conducting a thorough night audit. You will report directly to the Duty Manager and be responsible for overseeing the premises' operations overnight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Arrive punctually each night wearing a clean, full uniform with a name badge and maintain a professional grooming standard to positively represent the hotel to guests.
  • Receive comprehensive handovers from the Daily Porters, Receptionists, and the on-duty Manager to ensure all pertinent information is communicated.
  • Perform docket checks as necessary and promptly notify the early Duty Manager of any inconsistencies.
  • Conduct routine security and fire safety checks at set intervals, specifically at midnight, 2 AM, 4 AM, and 6 AM, documenting and reporting any irregularities.
  • Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently during your shift, assisting with luggage promptly.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to any guest inquiries or requests that arise during the night.
  • Prepare and deliver Lounge and Room Service orders after 11 PM up to the agreed standards, while maintaining cleanliness in kitchen and food preparation zones.
  • Collect breakfast cards during floor inspections and ensure room service deliveries for breakfast are timely and meet standards.
  • Take over Bar Service duties after bar staff departure, adhering strictly to cash handling and stock control procedures.
  • Perform nightly cleaning according to the schedule, including public areas, Premier Lounge stocking, reception desk, office, meeting rooms, and public bathrooms.
  • Keep the front exterior areas of the hotel clean and free from debris.
  • Prepare meeting rooms to the established standards, checking equipment functionality where required.
  • Monitor fax machine regularly to promptly deliver communications to guests.
  • Complete a detailed report of the night shift activities and hand over any significant incidents to the next shift's Duty Manager, Receptionist, or Day Porter before finishing your shift.
  • Carry out any additional reasonable tasks assigned by management.
