The Guinness Partnership is a prominent provider of affordable housing across England, managing and building homes for nearly 160,000 residents nationwide. Its dedicated in-house team, Guinness Property, specializes in delivering repairs and maintenance services to maintain the quality and safety of approximately 55,000 properties.

We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Joiner to join our team based in Exeter, responsible for providing responsive repair work and general multi-skilled trade tasks. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Working hours cover 8 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday, with Saturday morning shifts scheduled on a rota basis as well as participation in an out-of-hours callout rota, which comes with extra compensation. The successful candidate must reside locally within Exeter and hold a full UK driving licence. A basic DBS check is also required and will be funded by the company.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Carry out competent work within your main trade.
• Perform multi-trade duties including basic plumbing, tiling, joinery, groundwork, mould treatment, and flooring installation.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach, ideally within social housing, delivering a consistently high standard of service.
• Work methodically to meet targets, follow procedures, and record information accurately.
• Operate effectively with minimal supervision, demonstrating good organisation and time management.
• Conduct physical tasks involving damp and mould treatment products safely, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure safe working practices considering environmental factors and potential risks.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess an NVQ Level 3 (City & Guilds) or equivalent certified qualification in your primary trade.
• Demonstrated capability in multi-trade tasks relevant to responsive housing repairs.
• Experience in customer service, preferably within social housing environments.
• Organised and able to work independently.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and live within the Exeter area.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours callout rota.
• Ability to pass a basic DBS check (paid for by employer).
