Role Overview

The Design Enablement Engineer will join the Design Enablement Team, focusing on creating and enhancing design components crucial for Process Design Kits (PDKs).

Main Responsibilities

• Develop library components for semiconductor device Process Design Kits.
• Create, implement, maintain, and support PDKs including technology files and runtime code compatible with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools.
• Develop and sustain automation tools that simulate fabrication processes.
• Analyze and interpret process design constraints and SPICE modeling documentation to generate detailed specifications for PDK creation.
• Establish and maintain validation test cases for Process Design Kits, Design Rule Checking (DRC), and Layout Versus Schematic (LVS) procedures ensuring high-quality outputs for clients.
• Document release notes, application notes, known issues, and workarounds to guide proper usage of PDK components.
• Contribute innovative ideas fostering intellectual property growth, including potential patents.
• Adhere strictly to safety, environmental, health, and security protocols within workplace operations.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related discipline is essential.
• At least six years’ professional experience within the semiconductor and/or Electronic Design Automation industries.
• A master's degree in the aforementioned fields is preferred.
• Strong foundation in semiconductor device physics and electronic component behavior.
• Proficiency in electronic CAD software such as Cadence IC, Cadence OrCAD, Protel, or equivalents.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Perl, Tcl, Bash, etc.) is advantageous.
• Experience with Cadence IC tools, including Virtuoso Layout, Schematic, or Cadence Skill scripting language, is highly beneficial.
• Comfortable working in Unix/Linux operating environments.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) or Generative AI technologies adds value.
• Expertise in Cadence Skill programming and pcell development is required.
• Strong analytical and technical problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative and tactful approach.
• Self-driven, resourceful, and proactive in initiative-taking.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized.
