With a diverse team spanning multiple countries, BJAK emphasizes passion-driven work culture dedicated to crafting next-generation financial products accessible to everyone.

- Collaborate closely with product management and design teams to simplify intricate user journeys.
- Integrate backend APIs ensuring stability, security, and reliability within mobile flows.
- Enhance application performance by addressing crash rates, loading delays, responsiveness, and memory optimization.
- Leverage analytics, user behavior data, and production feedback to refine the product.
- Implement AI-powered mobile interactions only when they substantively enhance the user experience.
Candidate Profile
- Possess at least three years of hands-on Android development experience, specifically with Kotlin.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of Android fundamentals and have shipped production applications.
- Proficient in Jetpack, Coroutines, Flow, and contemporary Android architectural patterns.
- Keen awareness of mobile user experience principles, usability concerns, edge cases, and comprehensive user flow design.
- Experience working with RESTful APIs and capable of troubleshooting production issues.
- Exhibit fast execution speed, strong ownership, and a meticulous approach to product quality.
- Submission of app links, GitHub repositories, screenshots, or examples of published work is highly valued.
Technical Environment
- Kotlin programming language
- Jetpack Compose for UI
- Android SDK
- Asynchronous programming with Coroutines and Flow
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- On-device machine learning inference using TensorFlow Lite
Ideal Builder Traits
- Focuses on comprehensive user journeys rather than isolated screens.
- Aims to simplify complex financial services through intuitive design.
- Delivers solutions rapidly without compromising code cleanliness.
- Proactively identifies and resolves UX, performance, and reliability issues before they affect users.
- Maintains transparency about individual versus team contributions and realistic impact.
Unsuitable Candidates
- Those preferring strictly predefined tasks without autonomy.
- Developers who neglect user experience in favor of just building screens.
- Individuals who overlook app crashes, edge scenarios, loading states, or performance optimization.
- Engineers unable to maintain a fast pace suited to startup environments.
- Candidates who overstate their contributions without clear evidence.
Location & Communication
This position is fully remote; however, applicants must currently reside in Ireland. English is the primary language used in the workplace, requiring strong communication skills.
Selection Process
- Online assessment or practical coding task.
- Role-specific technical interview.
- Final interview round with the CEO.
The recruitment process aims to be swift, often concluding with an offer within one week from initiation, prioritizing candidates who complete assessments promptly.
