Job Overview

We are seeking a Mobile Chef to serve multiple Aramark catering sites in the Letterkenny area. This role involves preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals while upholding food safety, hygiene, and company standards consistently. The chef will play a key role in supporting daily catering activities and enhancing the dining experience for guests.

Key Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, standardized recipes, and specific customer needs.
  • Ensure food presentation is appealing and meets high-quality service standards.
  • Maintain consistent food quality control, portion sizing, and overall meal consistency.
  • Assist with developing and planning menus.
  • Keep track of stock levels and participate in ordering necessary supplies.
  • Handle deliveries properly and store ingredients following food safety guidelines.
  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health and safety regulations.
  • Keep kitchen spaces and equipment clean and well-organized.
  • Work to reduce food waste and contribute to cost management efforts.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen colleagues and front-of-house staff.
  • Support special events, catering functions, and accommodate special dietary requests.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff when needed.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience in chef roles such as Chef or Catering Chef.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen workflow.
  • Understanding and application of HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a busy, fast-paced workplace.
  • Strong skills in organization and managing time efficiently.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and during special events.

Qualifications

  • Professional chef qualification or equivalent (preferred).
  • Certification in Food Safety or HACCP.
  • Additional catering or hospitality certificates are advantageous.
