Role Overview
As a Mineral Processing Knowledge Analyst, you will collaborate closely with client service teams on projects centered around mining and mineral processing operations. Your contributions will span providing expert advice on strategic and operational issues and supporting the development of new products. This involves performing operational excellence diagnostics at mines and mineral processing plants to identify transformative opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
You will guide clients through data collection, conduct quantitative analyses, and integrate qualitative insights into comprehensive diagnostic reports. The role also includes engaging in the innovation of novel approaches to processing data analytics while supporting consulting teams and clients during on-site and off-site analysis. You will be a part of the Gurugram-based Client Capabilities Network within McKinsey's global MineLens team, which uses AI, advanced analytics, and extensive mining performance benchmarks to help mining companies improve productivity and reduce costs.

Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in mineral processing operations, particularly in base and precious metals.
- Deep understanding of mining industry dynamics.
- A strong passion for analytics with an interest in pioneering new methods in mineral processing data analysis to drive operational improvements.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, mining software, and advanced analytics platforms.
- Experience utilizing Generative AI (GenAI) tools to enhance analysis or decision-making is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage client engagements, confidently interact with senior clients, and deliver complex value proposals at executive levels.
- Capacity to thrive in a demanding, results-oriented team setting, including willingness to travel periodically to remote mining sites.
- Openness to candidates with international experience who are willing to relocate to India.
- Excellent command of English in both verbal and written forms; proficiency in other languages is beneficial.
