MET / Panel Technician

About the Role

Our client, a reputable automotive company based in Luton, is seeking an experienced MET / Panel Technician to join their expanding team. This full-time, permanent role involves performing a blend of mechanical, electrical, and trim tasks along with vehicle body and panel repairs. The aim is to restore accident-affected vehicles to their original condition while working in a professional bodyshop environment that offers long-term career growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical, electrical, trim (MET), and panel repairs on a variety of accident-damaged vehicles.
• Remove and reinstall mechanical, electrical, and trim components as needed.
• Repair, replace, and align damaged body panels accurately.
• Conduct vehicle stripping and refitting operations when necessary.
• Assess and evaluate vehicle damage to decide on suitable repair strategies.
• Perform welding and structural repairs when required.
• Collaborate effectively with other bodyshop technicians throughout repairs.
• Ensure all repair work adheres to safety and quality standards.
• Complete repairs according to manufacturer and industry guidelines.
• Maintain precise job cards and repair documentation.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a MET Technician, Panel Technician, Panel Beater, or Bodyshop Technician.
• Proficient in both MET and panel repairs.
• Strong familiarity with vehicle body repair processes.
• Experience handling accident-damaged vehicles professionally.
• Knowledgeable about vehicle structure and repair methods.
• Excellent attention to detail with a dedication to quality workmanship.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Relevant automotive or bodyshop qualifications are advantageous.
• Possession of a valid full UK Driving Licence.
