About the Role

Our client, a reputable automotive company located in Gloucester, is seeking a skilled MET / Paint Technician to join their expanding team in a busy bodyshop environment. This is a full-time permanent position offering competitive hourly pay and the chance to develop professionally within a well-equipped facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and trim (MET) tasks including disassembling and reassembling vehicle components.
  • Prepare vehicles and panels for painting by undertaking sanding, masking, and priming activities.
  • Support paint and refinishing operations as needed.
  • Evaluate damage on vehicles to determine required repairs.
  • Collaborate closely with Panel Technicians and other bodyshop personnel.
  • Ensure all repair and preparation work meet high-quality standards aligned with manufacturer and industry guidelines.
  • Complete job cards and repair paperwork accurately.
  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organized workspace.

Role Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience working as an MET Technician, Paint Technician, Vehicle Technician, or Bodyshop Technician.
  • Competence in both MET and paint preparation duties.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle repair methods and procedures.
  • Experience ideally gained in a busy bodyshop or accident repair setting.
  • Attention to detail with dedication to producing quality workmanship.
  • Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Relevant automotive or bodyshop certifications are advantageous.
  • Possession of a full UK Driving Licence.
