Job description

Overview

The Merchandising Associate plays a key role in enhancing the customer shopping experience by standardizing and improving product displays, which in turn supports sales growth. This position involves completing merchandising reset activities as specified by planograms and other execution plans, requiring reliable transportation to commute regularly between two Halifax area locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement merchandising resets as directed by the Planogram Team.
  • Assist in launching merchandising projects involving end caps, dump bins, and promotional displays.
  • Manage seasonal product displays.
  • Execute merchandising strategies supporting promotions and marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain display functionality, ensure bay sets are clean, clearly priced, well-stocked, and neatly presented.
  • Work hours are primarily Monday through Friday from 6am to 3pm, with occasional weekend shifts as business demands.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Interest in merchandising with adaptability to frequent changes; prior merchandising experience is a benefit.
  • Basic carpentry skills, such as using hand tools, drills, and saws.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using smartphones and various apps applicable to bay upkeep and reporting.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Self-driven with capability to collaborate closely with team members daily.
  • Effective task prioritization focused on results.
  • Must have own dependable transportation for travel between Lower Sackville and Halifax’s Bayers Lake.
  • CSA approved steel-toed boots are mandatory.
  • Must be 18 years or older and able to work at heights due to equipment training requirements.
