Merchandiser - Full Time Day Shift

About the Role

Join a community-focused, locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store in Burnaby, British Columbia, where you will play a key role in delivering health, beauty, and convenience services tailored to your community. The main emphasis of this position is merchandising, ensuring products are well-organized, displayed for easy shopping, and meet store standards efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and maintain backroom inventory following the Backroom Inventory Management (BIMI) protocols.
• Utilize Portable Data Terminals (PDT) and Merchandise Management Systems (MMS) to execute daily operational tasks.
• Handle product returns and exit strategies as assigned.
• Develop expertise in managing assigned product areas, including inventory accuracy, proper placement, and monitoring expiry dates.
• Maintain store image standards aligned with current trends, ensuring product presentations attract consumers.
• Receive and process merchandise consistent with store receiving policies and maintain an orderly backroom.
• Complete appropriate documentation related to receipt and return of goods.
• Support store leadership in preserving product quality and operational standards.
• Adhere to uniform and dress code policies to present a clean and professional image to customers.
• Proactively greet and assist customers on the sales floor.
• Comply with all health and safety regulations, store policies, and loss prevention procedures.
• Perform additional duties as required by management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong decision-making, planning, and judgment capabilities.
• Highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented with excellent record-keeping skills.
• Adaptable and capable of handling dynamic situations on the sales floor.
• Basic computer proficiency and cash register experience.
• Ability to work independently with self-motivation.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Physical ability to lift items up to 50 pounds and climb ladders as needed.
