Job description
Overview
Join Woolworths Supermarkets New Zealand based in Christchurch, with over 185 stores and 20,000 team members serving three million Kiwis weekly. We foster a friendly, energetic work environment that values new ideas, innovation, and collaboration grounded in respect and care.
Role Objectives and Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain effective workflow within an assigned process area, ensuring seamless operation and strict adherence to company standards.
- Collaborate closely with your Team Leader and team ('swarm') to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Lead operational excellence by completing routines accurately and on time, upholding food safety (SF5) compliance and production quality standards for fresh products.
- Drive the visual merchandising of products, ensuring superior quality, well-maintained displays, proper facings, correct markdowns, and removal of outdated products.
- Manage and develop your team through leadership, on-the-job training, coaching, and promoting a safe and healthy workplace.
- Identify and escalate process issues promptly to the Function Lead, conducting regular health checks to implement continuous improvements.
- Take on Store Manager responsibilities during scheduled shifts and actively engage in initiatives that enhance team collaboration.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in process excellence with a proactive approach to continuous learning and improvement.
- Strong aptitude for building and sustaining collaborative relationships across various functions and stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills including task delegation, monitoring, coaching, and motivation of team members.
- In-depth knowledge of compliance requirements related to your function with exceptional communication abilities to convey tasks and standards effectively.
- Your conduct aligns consistently with the Woolworths Group’s core values.
- Availability to work four weekend shifts per month and at least one evening shift weekly.
Work Schedule
Typical roster example:
- Sunday: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
- Monday: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Tuesday to Thursday: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
