Role Overview
Join Woolworths Supermarkets New Zealand as a Merchandise Operations Specialist based in Ashburton, Canterbury. Be part of a company serving over three million New Zealanders weekly with over 185 stores and 20,000 team members. This role involves managing assigned process flows, collaborating within your team, and maintaining strict adherence to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain process workflows for your designated workstream.
- Work closely with your Team Leader and team 'swarm' to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure seamless completion of processes while strictly following established guidelines.
- Lead excellence in daily operations, including food safety and production standards for fresh products.
- Manage visual merchandising by maintaining product presentation quality, including displays, promotions, facings, markdowns, and removing expired items.
- Provide leadership and development within your team, offering on-the-job training, coaching, and fostering a safe and healthy workplace.
- Address process issues promptly, escalating to Function Lead when necessary, and conduct regular health checks for continuous functional improvement.
- Serve as Acting Store Manager during scheduled shifts and support team collaboration through 'Better Together' initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in process management and a dedication to continuous improvement.
- Strong ability to build and sustain collaborative partnerships across various functions and stakeholders.
- Effective leadership skills including task delegation, progress monitoring, coaching, feedback provision, and motivation of team members.
- Expertise in compliance requirements specific to your function, paired with excellent communication to convey tasks and standards clearly.
- Consistent behavior aligned with company values.
- Availability to work four weekend shifts monthly and at least one evening shift weekly.
Additional Details - Work Schedule
Roster Option 1:
Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Sunday: 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
