Job description
Position Overview
Abniya Innovative Ltd is seeking a Junior MEP Quantity Surveying (QS) / Estimation Engineer to join their team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on developing precise cost assessments for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects and involves coordination with multiple stakeholders to support tendering and project control processes.
Primary Duties
- Compile detailed estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and cost breakdowns specifically for MEP works.
- Analyze tender documents including drawings, specifications, BOQs, and defined project scope.
- Create accurate cost calculations covering materials, labor, and installation.
- Review and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors on both technical and commercial dimensions.
- Collaborate with procurement and technical teams to verify cost accuracy and consistency.
- Detect gaps in scope, exclusions, project variations, and identify potential commercial risks.
- Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and manage interactions with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing information.
- Assist with tender bid preparations and ongoing cost management for projects.
- Assess variations related to MEP works and support quantity take-offs and related cost analyses.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in MEP estimation or quantity surveying, with preference for candidates experienced in the Saudi Arabian market.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MEP systems including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical, and ELV/Low Current systems.
- Familiarity with Saudi market pricing for MEP materials and installation labor.
- Competent in independently interpreting engineering drawings and performing quantity take-offs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and specialized MEP estimation or QS software tools.
- Experience working on commercial, residential, infrastructure or mixed-use projects is advantageous.
- Effective communication and team coordination skills.
