Role Overview
The Mechanical Inspector will oversee and examine mechanical operations within pumping station and sewage treatment plant projects, ensuring strict adherence to local and international standards.
Key Duties
- Supervise and inspect mechanical activities, confirming compliance with PPPA, QCS, stipulated standards, and global best practices.
- Participate in progress and technical meetings with the Authority and Project Company representatives.
- Assess mechanical equipment and project executions, assist with As-built drawing reviews, material inspections, and site acceptance testing.
- Address inspection requests from contractors and undertake necessary follow-up actions.
- Conduct site visits as directed by Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Evaluate shop drawings against contract requirements, ensuring adherence to local codes and international standards.
- Monitor HSE and environmental compliance, enforcing contractual and risk assessment stipulations.
- Implement quality assurance and control protocols on-site.
- Maintain comprehensive reports documenting site progress and activities, ready for audits.
- Coordinate effectively across multiple disciplines.
- Provide technical support to resolve electrical issues when necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution recognized by the Engineer.
- Proven supervisory experience in mechanical equipment installation for pump stations and sewage treatment projects of similar scale.
- Strong knowledge of local material standards.
- Commitment to ethical operations and prioritization of safety and security.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, advocate focus, and maintain accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at clear and consistent communication to drive execution and results.
