Role Summary
The Mechanical Engineer will oversee planning, coordination, and execution of L2 through L5 commissioning phases for designated systems or areas. The position ensures compliance with technical standards, quality assurance, and readiness for project acceptance. It requires balancing hands-on technical work, documentation, and communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation verification, reviewing and approving installation checklists, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and method statements to ensure readiness for commissioning entry.
- Develop commissioning plans and witness commissioning of individual plant and equipment, verifying operation, settings, controls, and protection mechanisms and confirming stability for progression to system-level testing.
- Coordinate and monitor system functional tests, validating operation sequences, system responses, and adherence to design and operational requirements.
- Support Integrated Systems Testing activities by validating system resilience and recovery outcomes, assisting with client demonstrations and acceptance procedures.
- Authority to approve progression between commissioning stages within assigned scope and recommend acceptance or rejection of test outcomes.
Required Skills and Experience
- Between 5 and 8 years of commissioning experience in mission-critical or complex facilities.
- Demonstrated experience in Data Centre or critical infrastructure environments is essential.
- Strong technical documentation capabilities and excellent coordination skills to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
