About the Role
We are seeking Mechanical Engineers with a strong interest in water infrastructure to join our New Zealand Pacific Water team. This expression of interest targets candidates with varying experience levels—from those with at least five years of relevant expertise to senior engineers poised for strategic leadership roles. Leveraging our extensive global network, you will contribute to sustainable water outcomes that respect environmental integrity and community wellbeing.
This opportunity is open across all New Zealand locations including Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Hawkes Bay, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Tauranga, and Wellington.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis and develop tailored solutions to address complex challenges in water infrastructure projects.
- Design advanced mechanical systems related to water, wastewater, stormwater treatment plants, and pumping stations, ensuring seamless integration with multidisciplinary teams, with a strong emphasis on hydraulic principles.
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand Codes and Standards across all projects while staying informed about emerging industry trends and technologies.
- Communicate effectively using excellent verbal and written skills to present ideas, collaborate with teams, and engage clients throughout project lifecycles.
- Apply expertise in design software such as Inventor and AutoCAD to lead mechanical system modeling, ensuring precision and innovation.
- Utilize lateral thinking skills to develop pragmatic and creative solutions that effectively navigate project challenges.
- Identify project risks, articulate technical concerns clearly, and devise mitigation strategies to ensure sustainable project success.
- Contribute actively within a collaborative team culture, offering ideas that positively influence project outcomes.
- Build strong client relationships to understand their needs and align engineering solutions with their goals.
