Mechanical Electrical Trim (MET) Technician

Role Overview

Motability Operations is seeking a skilled MET Technician to join its bustling, cutting-edge refurbishment facility located in Coalville. This is a permanent part-time role where you will have steady work without downtime, engaging with a modern workshop environment outfitted with the latest tools and technology, including training opportunities for electric vehicle (EV) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technologies.

Key Duties

• Removing and reinstalling mechanical, electrical, and trim elements on vehicles.
• Carrying out strip and fit tasks in preparation for cosmetic repairs.
• Utilizing digital job management systems to oversee tasks and parts ordering.
• Assisting with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and calibrating ADAS components.
• Maintaining high-quality reconditioning standards for a fleet of modern vehicles.
• Present onsite five days a week in Coalville as required by role demands.

Work Hours and Compensation

• Working 45 hours per week.
• Shifts lasting 9 hours, scheduled between 06:30 and 18:00; specific shift patterns to be discussed during the interview.
• Salary up to £37,900 basic pay per annum.
• Bonus potential of up to 15%.
• Generous pension contributions at 15%.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated cosmetic team committed to superior vehicle reconditioning quality. High attention to detail and pride in workmanship are important for this role.

• Robust experience in MET duties and strip & fit procedures.
• Strong diagnostic skills.
• Possession of a full UK manual driving licence.
• Experience with ADAS or electric vehicles is advantageous but not mandatory.
