Key Responsibilities
- Construct and assemble mechanical assemblies for switchgear units aligned with provided drawings and instructions.
- Conduct repairs and rectify any identified defects in switchgear units.
- Promote and maintain a culture of safety, participating actively in all safety meetings.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards by following established work protocols and identifying potential quality risks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across workstations.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary to support operations.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Experience ranging from none up to three years in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience working with switchgear units is considered an advantage.
- Ability to accurately read tape measures with conversions between fractions, decimals, and metric/imperial units.
- Knowledge of machine tools, their design, operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Basic computer literacy is an asset.
- Interest or ability in assembling or repairing mechanical components is preferred.
- Possession of safety training certifications is beneficial.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
- This is a safety-sensitive role within a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial facility, occasionally requiring outdoor activities.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, harnesses, and respirators as needed.
- Capability to use various ladders and scaffolding, including step ladders and extension ladders.
- Work may involve heights up to 30 feet, employing proper lifting equipment when necessary.
- Physical demands include maintaining balance and agility to prevent falls, repetitive bending, standing and walking lengthy distances with minimal sitting.
- Tasks often require climbing stairs, looking over shoulders, and extended use of upper limbs to lift forces up to 50 pounds.
- Proficient use of hand and power tools, including tin snips and hammers, with frequent repetition and potential vibration exposure.
