Meat Cutter

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team at Sobeys in Stratford, Ontario. This full-time role involves preparing meat products, providing exemplary customer service, maintaining department standards, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. The position is based in-store with minimal travel requirements (0-10%).

Key Responsibilities

• Serve customers attentively, fulfilling their meat product needs.
• Prepare, cut, and package meat products for sale and display.
• Stock and merchandise meat displays to maintain an attractive presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat department area.
• Receive and process incoming meat orders efficiently.
• Fulfill special meat product orders upon request.
• Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
• Ensure all meat products meet company quality standards and comply with Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations.
• Adhere strictly to company policies and operational standards.
• Perform administrative tasks as needed to support department operations.
• Provide technical training and guidance to new staff and clerks.
• Assist the Meat Manager or Second Meat Clerk in daily duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of meat department operations and necessary skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Minimum educational qualification: High School Diploma.
• At least 12 months of relevant meat cutting or retail experience.

Compensation and Work Conditions

Salary for this position ranges from $21 to $25 per hour, depending on location, experience, and skills. We are committed to providing a fair and competitive remuneration package tailored to the candidate.
