Meat Associate

Position Summary

Core Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper zoning of the meat department to ensure an inviting, customer-ready environment.
• Regularly rotate stock and promptly remove expired or unsellable products.
• Guarantee accurate pricing and signage for all merchandise by adhering to Walmart’s established procedures including ordering, clearances, markdowns, pricing, and labeling.
• Comply fully with food safety and cold chain protocols including regular temperature checks, food handling standards, sell-by and expiration date adherence, and thermometer calibration.
• Prepare and serve deli products such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken safely by utilizing slicers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and other equipment. Fulfill customer orders and stock display cases with care.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe, hygienic workplace.
• Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support store operations and consistent customer service.

Challenges in This Role

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including overnight hours, while maintaining focus and energy.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 50 lbs.
• Conduct repetitive stocking, zoning, and organizing with precision to meet store standards consistently.
