Key Duties

• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and proper zoning of the meat department to ensure it is always ready and appealing for customers.
• Regularly rotate stock and remove products that are expired or unsellable to uphold quality standards.
• Ensure all meat merchandise is accurately priced and labeled, following company procedures for ordering, markdowns, marking, and signage.
• Comply diligently with food safety and cold chain protocols, including temperature monitoring, calibration of thermometers, correct food handling, and management of sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take customer orders and prepare various deli items such as meat, cheeses, and fried chicken using equipment like slicers, rotisserie ovens, deep fryers, and stackers safely.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a hygienic and safe work environment.
• Be flexible with working hours, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs and ensure consistent customer service.

Challenges

• Effectively manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment, including overnight shifts, by maintaining energy and focus.
• Handle extensive restocking and recovery operations efficiently while maintaining accuracy and store standards.
• Perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 50 lbs, along with repetitive duties like stocking and product zoning with attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $18.05.
